Banky’s provocative new work ‘Sirens of the Lambs’ has been seen touring the streets of New York; marking a shift in his usual modus operandi from street art to something more akin to performance art.
The piece, which is currently being displayed around New York’s meatpacking district, features a slaughterhouse delivery truck kitted out with animatronic stuffed animals, including cows, chickens, rabbits and pandas.
Although the point of the piece is, as usual, left open to interpretation, a logical inference would be that it’s a provocative statement regarding the treatment of animals bred specifically for their meat.
