If you’ve ever spent an idle moment scrolling through Tumblr, you’ll have seen a GIF. Jerky animated images, usually in eye-poppingly gaudy colours and in pixelvision. The GIFs Matthias Brown has been showcasing on Traceloops, his own Tumblr page, are made utilising traditional animation techniques such as rotoscoping, and have a unique style of their own.
Brown is primarily a graphic designer working in a variety of mostly digital media. His Tumblr has got him quite a bit of attention from the public, bringing his work to a wider audience. Here are some of his GIFs in action:
