CCTV footage of the al-Shabaab attack on the Westgate Mall in Nairobi has been released, showing people fleeing for their lives as terrorists enter the building.
Although heavily edited to remove the most upsetting parts, the footage shows the moment shoppers at the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya realise gunmen have entered the building. The footage, which some viewers will almost certainly find upsetting, shows civilians running and hiding throughout the mall, and clearly captures a man being shot in cold blood as he attempts to hide beneath a fake elephant.
The film also shows a woman with her kids – including an injured youth in a shopping trolley – followed by a young women in a blood stained shirt as they are directed by an armed member of the al-Shabaab terrorists.
